They can use their own data plan for that (and they should be working anyway). I'm not in the business of providing wifi for facebook on their phones. It also allows our employees to connect to the wireless if needed / wanted, but doesn't suck up our bandwidth all day long (just for an hour). If their meeting runs longer, they can just connect again to gain an additional hour. It's usually used when we have vendors or clients come in who only need wireless for the 30min to 1hr that they're here. The guest network disconnects users after 1 hour has passed. In my use case, I have a guest network being broadcast along side our main wireless. The caveat is they'll have to reconnect every day when they come back. Presumably, you could make it so the wireless connection stays active for 8hrs after being connected, then the system would boot users after their normal shift would be over. What he's concerned about is disconnecting clients after X amount of time has passed. You are correct that they will not show under the "Users" tab.
UNIFI UNBLOCK WIRED CLIENT SOFTWARE
The UniFi software I have (3.2.1) will show past connected clients by using the "Insight" tab on the top right. It doesn't show past clients in that list. the Unifi software only shows currently actively connected clients when you are looking at your client list. I am unsure I understand what you are trying to do.
